Native to South America, Peach Palms are valued for their heart of palm center that is edible and considered gourmet.

It was introduced in 1990 as an experiment and spread a bunch since then. You can see the whole gulches covered while taking scenic road along Hamakua coast.

We have a wild grove by our side and it blooms all year round attracting Bees to the clusters of flowers and later birds for seeds and nests.
